[Middlegen-user] newbie - problems in startup

I,
i'm a newbie in middlegen, so I beg your pardon if the request is trivial.
I downloaded the latest version, but I can't start it!

if I run the command
java -jar middlegen.jar
I get
Exception in thread "main" java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError:
middlegen/swing/Main

If I run ant I get:

BUILD FAILED
/samples/build.xml:112: taskdef class middlegen.MiddlegenTask cannot be
found


I'm working on linux, j2sdk 1.4.0
